Infant - Toddler
At NGN, we believe that the first three years of life are an extraordinary time that sets the stage for all the years that follow. During these years, children need a safe world with abundant opportunities to see, hear, feel, touch, and move. The amount of positive stimulation a child receives during the early years is directly related to a child's behavioral and brain development. The following factors contribute greatly to optimal brain development and are part of your child’s daily experiences.
- Engagement: Children who are engaged and spend quality time interacting with adults in meaningful activities are more likely to grow. All children will receive quality one on one time with their primary caregivers.
- Touch: Children need positive touch and attachment with caregivers for the body and brain to grow. Children must be stimulated using all senses by providing experiences that are developmentally appropriate. All children will be cared for in a nurturing and age appropriate environment.
- Stable Relationships: Predictability is very safe and reassuring to a young child. All children need a sense of safety and security. All children will have primary caregivers who are responsive and “in tune” to their needs and wants.
- Safe and Healthy Environment: Proper nutrition, clean, and “baby safe” environments are vital to a child’s healthy development. All children will have a safe environment that allows for relaxed opportunities for both play and rest time.
- Communication: Young children thrive on rich experiences including activities such as reading, talking, singing and listening to a variety of music. Children will have plenty of opportunities to interact with their primary caregivers and other children throughout the day.
All infant and toddler parents will be provided written Daily Reports outlining their child’s day. Written daily reports may also be provided for two year olds upon request.
