Ages & Stages

The Ages & Stages (A & S) assessments are used as an early intervention piece to identify of infants and young children who may have developmental delays or disorders.

The A & S screening system is composed of 19 questionnaires designed to be completed by parents or primary caregivers. They are given at age intervals of 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, 27, 30, 33, 36, 42, 48, 54, and 60 months. In most cases, these questionnaires can identify accurately infants or young children who may be in need of further evaluation to determine whether they are eligible for early intervention services. Referrals would then be made to either the Birth to Three program or Racine Unified School District, depending on the age of the child.
